The following links can lead you to various instructional reading strategies to use in the classroom.
MyRead. Strategies for teaching reading in the middle years. Strategies are based on the Luke and Freebody four resource model. Information on explicit teaching, scaffolding learning, monitoring, and classroom organization. MyRead supports struggling readers in grades 4-9.
ReadingQuest. Focuses on reading strategies to use in the content area, particularly social studies. Has instructions and graphic organizers for nearly 30 different strategies.
Instructional Strategies Online. Sponsored by Saskatoon Public Schools, this site features instructional strategies to support the following methods: direct/ indirect instruction, experiential learning, independent study, and interactive instruction.
